Alliance Barter  Since 1977, Alliance Barter (formerly the Rochester Trade Exchange) has been Rochester, New York’s only barter exchange, and a barter pioneer across the US. During our 25-year history we’ve helped our clients cumulatively generate hundreds of millions of dollars in business. As the company began an aggressive international expansion plan, the management team felt it was time for a corporate name change. Alliance Barter has expanded to offices in Buffalo, Syracuse and most recently Toronto, Canada.

Alliance Barter has nearly 2,000 clients. Management is evaluating acquisition candidates in mid-sized and larger markets to enhance and complement its growth strategy. “Our latest expansion plan is really a testament to the power of alliances,” affirmed Alliance Barter President, Stephen Webster, “whether they’re with employees, clients, associates or suppliers. This is where our future lies.”

The addition of our online emarketplace in 2003 adds even more value to the Alliance Barter membership. Clients are now able to transact trade exchange business online seamlessly. This results in a new marketing tool for clients to sell their products and services as well as access and maintain individual account information 24 hours a day.

Global Barter Group (GBG) is working with BBN to implement its patented matching technology targeted to increase the retail trade exchange trading velocity in its expanding operations. In addition, GBG is working with BBN developing applications for the matching technology for expansion into countertrade and corporate barter operations, both increasing the use of trade sourcing from Asia as well as assisting in developing a media trading services group. The goal is to have each develop into a separate but synergistic sustainable revenue source for the company. GBG is helping BBN establish these capabilities by providing consulting to the company, focusing on sales and marketing strategies, personnel mix and profiles, structuring contractual agreements, establishing internal media trading methodologies and in the future implementing an overall Asian media trading sales strategy.
